  • Phytium Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Phytium”), is a leading vendor focusing on homegrown core chip in China. Jointly established by China Electronics Corporation, Tianjin Binhai New AreaGovernment and Tianjin Advanced Technology Research Institute in 2014, the company is now headquartered in Tianjin, with a branch in Beijing, several subsidiaries in Changsha, Chengdu and Guangzhou and offices in Shenzhen, Nanjing, Xi'an, Yinchuan, Shenyang and Haikou, etc.

    Dedicated to the design, research & development and application of the Phytium series of homegrown high-performance and low-power general-purpose microprocessors, Phytium unites many domestic hardware and software vendors to provide China's homegrown and advanced overall solutions for national information system based on international technical standards, so as to support national information and key industrial security.

    Developing on the concept of "homegrown innovation in core technologies and open collaboration in industryecosystem" and targeting the mission of "focusing on core chips in information systems and supporting national information security and industrial development", Phytium aspires to become a world-class chip provider and to serve the society with Chinachip. At the beginning of 2019, President Xi Jinping spoke highly of Phytium’s work during his visit to Tianjin and encouragedus to stay focus and shoulder great responsibilities.

    The Chinese name of Phytium "", which literary means “soaring high”, comes from the famous phrase in Songs of Chu ·Lisao written by Qu Yuan, a famous patriotic poet, "the road ahead is long and rough without ending, and we will search and progress without stopping, I summon the phoenixes to soar high, day and night, without a pause in the sky (路漫漫其修远兮,吾将上下而求索。吾令凤鸟兮,继之以日夜).” Since the successful development of the first Phytium processor in 1990s, Phytium’s technology has been evolving and improving for over 20 years.

    Phytium’s CPU products are characterized by full-stack series, high performance, mature ecosystem and high-level 
    homegrown technologies. We currently provide three series of CPU products including high-performance server CPU (Tengyun S series), high-efficiency desktop CPU (Tengrui D series) and high-end embedded CPU (Tenglong E series) - providing core computing power support for various devices from the terminal to the cloud. Products based on Phytium CPU cover various types of terminals (for example, desktops, all-in-ones, laptops, thin clients), servers and embedded industrial control products, which have been applied widely in government OA, cloud computing and big data as well as in information systems in finance, energy and rail transit industries in China. In addition, through working with domestic partners, Phytium has built up an ecosystem of cloud computing full-stack, edge computing full-stack, terminal full-stack and embedded full-stack ecosystem based on the Phytium platform, providing more choices for Integrating Service Providers (ISPs) and customers.

    By the end of 2020, Phytium had more than 1,600 eco-partners, including 246 ISP partners, 516 hardware partners and 851 software partners. In terms of CPU, Phytium, together with these 851 software vendors, has completed the compatibility certification and optimization of 2,557 software, including operating systems, application software, security software, cloud products, database and middleware, etc.

    Since its establishment, Phytium's core products and teams have won many awards, including the 2020 China IC Design Company Achievement Award “Top Five Potential Chinese IC Design Companies”, the First Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress , the "China Chip" Optimal Market Performance Award, the Gold Award of China Information Technology Expo, the Government Information Product Technology Innovation Award, the Award of Excellent Solution for E-government Security and the "China Youth May Fourth Medal Collective".

    In August, Phytium Technology Co., Ltd. was established.

    In March, Phytium released its FT-1500A series CPUs, which are mainly applied in desktop terminals and servers.

    In August, Phytium released its FT-2000/64 high-performance server CPU at the Hotchips-28 Conference.

    ●  Phytium launched its FT-2000+/64 high-performance server CPU, which was the first high-end general-purpose CPU in China.
    ●  Phytium launched its FT-2000A/2 embedded CPU, forming a complete homegrown CPU product family for desktop, server and embedded products.

    ● In January, the "China Electronic Network Security and Information Technology Innovation Project" based on the Phytium CPU won the First Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress .
    ● In February, Phytium's development was reported to President Xi Jinping during his visit to Chengdu.
    ● In November, Phytium FT-2000+/64 won the "China Chip" Annual Major Innovation Breakthrough Product Award.
    ● In December, Phytium's "Domestic High-performance Microprocessor Innovation Team" was selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a "Key Field Innovation Team" .

    ● In January, President Xi Jinping listened to a report on the latest development of Phytium during his visit to Tianjin Binhai New Area.
    ● In February, Zhao Leji, (a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and the Secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection), visited Phytium.
    ● In September, Phytium launched its FT-2000/4 high-efficiency and high-security desktop CPU.
    ● In November, Phytium released the White Paper on Full-stack Solutions Based on Phytium Platform from the Terminal to the Cloud.
    ● In December, the Phytium Security Platform Architecture (PSPA) was released.

    ● In January, the Phytium FT-1500A series CPUs and their application won the First Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress .
    ● In April, Phytium released a solution whitepaper, focusing on the "last mile" problem of application in the field of information innovation.
    ● In April, Phytium was selected by the SASAC as a demonstration enterprise of science and technology reform.
    ● In May, Phytium released its Software Ecological Manual, accelerating the progress of the information industry innovation through the synergy of software and hardware innovation.
    ● In May, Phytium’s embedded CPU R&D team won the China Youth May Fourth Medal.
    ● In July, Phytium released a new generation of multi-socket server CPU Tengyun S2500.
